Ship Money Memorial

Ship Money Memorial on Honor End Lane near Prestwood and not far from where John Hampden lived at Hampden House, Great Hampden. Hampden valley leading to Chequers is very scenic

I like when memorials seem plunked in the middle of nowhere

A fine piece of English history and countryside too John
I also googled it. It is interesting to think that this memorial, quietly tucked away commemorates an event that led to the English Civil war!
I wish I had time to look up this strangely named memorial.
One of those things that is very important in our history but about which we learn little, if anything, at school. A fine shot John.
