Perhaps not quite as dramatic as the classic front view, from where the castle looks higher and the mound more shapely.

This perspective looks just fine to me...
John Prior: Thanks Larry
I guess that generally holds true, whether it be houses or castles.
John Prior: Yes I suppose so, first impressions count smile
This is a really lovely shot, John! But you're right that the other angle is a little more dramatic!
John Prior: Thanks Elizabeth smile
WOW and YES. But every side of the face has its own important story to tell.
John Prior: Thanks Ginnie

None the less this is wonderful John: you had good weather too
John Prior: The best day weather wise of the holiday, early to Lindisfarne in the morning and the Farne islands in the afternoon, all within quick reach of Seahouses.
my attention is quite arrested by this view. the jumble of pebbles at the bottom is a nice counter point to the blocks of the castle.
John Prior: Enough to build another castle perhaps smile
I love seeing the rocky beaches so this pleases me a lot.
John Prior: Love the coast in all its aspects Mary
Good from any angle,John, those huts look interesting.
John Prior: Thanks Frank
John Prior: Thanks
Actually John it is very refreshing to see the castle from a different angle to those one usually sees.
John Prior: Thank you Brian. I think one is preconditioned about this place by some of the romantic shots by famous names, The National Trust used a Joe Cornish one for a members year book recently.
Good to see a different view. Makes me want to go there again
John Prior: Thanks Bill, I would not mind going again, good to see in different seasons, I feel drawn to this place smile

It's a change to see it this way it breaks the usual cliched mould, love the colours
