Camposanto Monumentale lV

A view down one side of the Camposanto, it was great to have this to ourselves while the cathedral and leaning tower next door were swarming with tourists. I think the best time to arrive at the other Pisa sights would be very early in the morning, this of course goes for a lot of other famous destinations also.

Great shot, love the angle! Love the floor it looks like a work of art as well.
John Prior: Yes a fine marble floor with tombs beneath.

Lucky you to have all this to yourself John. I am impressed with the scale of the place
John Prior: And just part of it Chris.
It seems as there is some construction going on. What a grand room!
John Prior: On going restoration Mary, although some frescoes have been lost for ever.
Indeed you were lucky John, what a magnificent place to have to yourself, and not only to take photographs but to enjoy at your leisure.
John Prior: They did not seem to mind photographs being taken in the cathedral also, the rules seem to change from place to place and be enforced fairly lightly in most, even in the Vatican most seemed to ignore the request for no photography.
How amazing is that! It's hard to capture things of this size well - but you have!
