Tales from the river bank l

The Thames at Cock Marsh, between Bourne End and Cookham. Romantic bridge, shot from a low angle to hide the mansions on the far bank. Although you would not know it now, the large flat grassland of Cock Marsh was used as an RAF airfield during WWll

This is a magnificent shot! The color on the bridge is very interesting and I love the reflections. I also enjoyed the narrative.

A fine shot but I think this bridge is getting close to the end of its days!
John Prior: It's been like this for years now and closed off, the pool it connects with is very small and easy to walk round, I wonder if it was part of the old drainage system which might have been filled in when the land was used as an airfield.

Perfect POV, John. There's lots to see here...as per usual in your images!
John Prior: Thank you Ginnie
What a fine photo opportunity.
John Prior: Thank you Brian
That bridge is on its last, um, legs...
