Lest we forget

Spotted in Ellesborough churchyard. HMS Circe was a minesweeper serving off Anzio, Italy. On the 23rd of April 1944 a mine that got entangled in the sweeping gear exploded on board causing many casualties.

Its rather said that this is all he has as a memorial.
John Prior: This is someone remembering the crew, the first line under the poppy says 'To our crew'. I thought the little cross in the grass seemed very poignant.
Indeed a poignant find John, there are so many, indeed too many, sad tales like this from past wars.
Deserves a bigger cross !!!!
