Docklands I

Opposite the ExCel centre on the other side of the Royal Victoria Dock is the derelict Spillers Millennium Mills (1905) named after Vernon & Sons most successful product 'Millennium Flour' that made 'beautiful white bread sandwiches', very popular in mining districts according to Wikipedia. Later used for manufacturing dog food. If you search the web there are some interesting grungy interior shots of abandoned equipment by people who have evaded security and taken some risks exploring this site.

Very atmospheric shot of an East London landmark, John.
John Prior: Thanks Graeme, I find the area fascinating
That would be a cool place to explore. A nice contrast to all the pomp and circumstance happening nearby.
John Prior: Yes I agree, but apparently you need a ladder.
Interesting area - I really like all the water and sky that fills the upper and lower frame
John Prior: One of those days when the weather took a long time to make up its mind, but a fine evening.

What you have done with the outside more than exceeds whatever is left on the inside, John!
John Prior: Love to explore the inside but not brave enough smile

It all looks rather abandoned John: even that ship looks a bit sad
John Prior: Yes I wondered about the moored ship.
Very atmospheric John - I recall being struck by this scene, when I last visited the ExCel Centre!
John Prior: I find the area fascinating, still the feeling of outlands.
There is a lot of history in this shot Tom... the buildings and even the ship tied up at the dock have seen much better days....petersmile
Looks like an interesting site John, nice combination of colours and treatment here.
