Looks a wonderful place to visit John, is it as devoid of crowds as suggested by your photo?
John Prior: Yes it really was, just an open site next to a main road, only parking a roadside lay-by designed more for the road, not in the least bit commercialised or regulated. The grass has been cut though.

Quite scary to wonder if our 'civilisation' will one day be in a similar state John.
It's hard to imagine all the proud & powerful people of the age at this site, when you see the ruins; which adds to the enchantment of your shot!
It looks to have been a large arena.
This would grace any calender John. Lovely composition
