Plas Brondanw I

The garden at Plas Brondanw, the family home of Sir Bertram Clough Williams-Ellis, the creator and architect of the village of Portmeirion. His daughter Susan was responsible for Portmeirion pottery. As you can see, the garden is in a great setting inland from Portmeirion.

I love your POV on this, John, and the unique colors of paint chosen for the iron railings.
John Prior: All freshly painted, All these railings were designed by Williams-Ellis and the drawings for them are on display. Thanks Ginnie.

I bet they would like to hack those trees down John.
John Prior: Horse chestnuts seem to grow very rapidly, I grew one from a conker 25 years ago, and although I've coppiced it to keep it under control it produced a great crop of conkers (US- Buckeyes) this yearsmile
A beautiful picture John. The railings are fantastic.
John Prior: Thank you Frances

Very nice point of view,I can see how Portmeirion was designed the way it is smile
John Prior: The story of the Williams-Ellis family is interesting, he never expected to inherit the family home.

Wonderful outlook and without the tree one can only imagine the outlook.
John Prior: Thanks Brian, they certainly wouldn't have been there at the time the garden was created.
