Greenwich Power Station

Few of the original power stations remain. However, the Greenwich Generating Station is still available as a back-up electricity source for the London Underground. It was built in two stages between 1902 and 1910 for the London County Council to power the capital's tramways and tube railways, which were being electrified at that time.

And the water never rises high enough to be a problem? The building makes for a very interesting image, John!

power plants are unmistakeable. the structure next to it looks fascinating and so mismatched. i like the wake of the boat.

Fascinating stuff John: and just look at that little white building in its shadow. I wonder what that is?

An interesting building that I have never noticed before John. I am puzzled by the white covering, almost as if it were a flour mill.
