I'm always surprised at the pebbles in lieu of pure sand on the beach. Such a lovely color palette and the birds flying about are icing on the cake.
John Prior: Thanks Sherri, they tend to add ballast to help protect the shore from erosion.

You have really brought out the intricacies of this gem John: lovely shot
John Prior: Thanks Chris, sometimes you only need a couple of hours in a place for it to prove productive.
Looks terribly wobbly on those poles I am not sure I would dare walk it
John Prior: Thanks Marion, the wide angle has rather exaggerated those legs smile

John Prior: Most kind ;-)
A lovely capture John with lovely tones.
John Prior: Thank you Laurette
Good POV John, the superstructure looks somewhat aged doesn't it.
John Prior: Thanks Brian, I suppose it is, but I do love wrought iron piers.

A great photo, John. You've caught the rust and other gunge on the structure of the pier very well. Somehow, though, I can't see it featuring in an Eastbourne tourist guide!
John Prior: Thanks Alan, I thought it rather elegant, the wide angle lens has rather exaggerated its structure.
Fine shot of the pier. I once stayed in a small hotel there in December (I was working) and the food was wonderful, they even made their own bread. They asked me if I minded eating early as they had a large Christmas party booked in....turned out they were the local council health inspectors, so if it was good enough for themtongue
John Prior: It is nice to be surprised like that Bill, it happens only occasionally, the gods were smiling.
