Point and shoot

A shot using my now sold Panasonic Lumix LX3, rather noisy, but what the heck.

Very dramatic shot of the Island of S. Giorgio from this point, John. I really like the tone you've used here.

I have a similar view, waiting in my queue, which shows it a little further back, shot from Piazza San Marco.
John Prior: Many thanks Beverly

It's impossibe to NOT point and shoot at that place, John...with any camera!
John Prior: Agreed Ginnie, almost impossible to put a foot wrong (unless stepping backwards on the edge of a canal)

Whatever the weather or time of day Venice has a charm of its own
John Prior: Yes indeed Chris, a one off.
I love those lamp standards, especially the one in the foreground.
John Prior: Thank you Sheila, the cast lamps are very elegant.

Continental lamp posts are often fine works of art unlike their British counterparts.
John Prior: Thanks Chad, we have our moments, the ones on the Thames embankment aren't bad.

I'm always intrigued by the boats. They seem romantic.
John Prior: Thanks Sherri, yes, I like the way everyone keeps to the traditional style, the corporate identity of Venice remains undiluted and unabused.
The color is stunning, of course everything about this place is stunning. I like the silhouettes against that color!
John Prior: Thank you T, yes it is a great and unique place to visit.

A blue way of life... The noise brings some charm here and gives a romantic mood to the scene.
Have a nice day.
