Craig Goch reservoir

The river in Wednesdays post feeds the first reservoir in the Elan Valley chain. Water eventually piped to Birmingham. Note the ice and remains of snow on the hillside. I've been here in the snow, but never after a fresh fall, something that i would really like.

This one is very tranquil. I wasn't expecting the thin layer of ice. I can imagine sheep on the hillside.
John Prior: Thanks Sherri, there are usually quite a lot of sheep around.

A charming landscape John
John Prior: Thank you Chris
Those trees really make the composition
John Prior: Thanks a lot Bill.
Lovely landscape..and like Bill, the solitary trees make it..Nice one John.
John Prior: Thanks Bill, I've always thought that group of trees adds so much to the view.
Nice shot John. Would I be right in thinking that the water level looks a bit down.
John Prior: Thanks Brian, down a little as no water was flowing over the top of the dam, compared to January 2010 when it was.
It almost looks like there might be a few sand bunkers in the distance, John. Lovely capture of this reservoir.
John Prior: Thanks Beverly, I see what you mean, better not tell any golfers smile
That is just beautiful John! The water looks like liquid silver!!
John Prior: Thanks Marion, the layer of ice helped.
