I'd love to see this city and others in person. So ancient and what a contrast the people make...they aren't smile

John Prior: Thanks Chris, Yes there were devastating floods here in 1966, the same year as Venice was severely flooded, destroying art and homes.

Ponte Vecchio.....but hidden. Great twist.
John Prior: Ponte Vecchio sounds so much better than 'old bridge' smile But at least, unlike the other bridges in Florence it was not blown up by the Germans in WW2. Thanks for comment Graeme.
