Talyllyn Light Railway

The world's first preserved railway. Also the museum at Wharf Station preserves part of the Rev. W. Awdry's study, just as he left it, complete with model railway, library and writing desk. Awdry was an early volunteer on this railway and it provided inspiration for his 'Skarloey Railway'. 'Sir Handel' features in his 'Thomas the Tank Engine' series.
