A little web research reveals that this is a Fordson Super Major from the early sixties.

I like your low angle for this. My husband tells me this is a merge between Ford and Massey Ferguson. (Ford Ferguson and then it became Massey Ferguson in America) Just reminiscing about our farming days. Images trigger memories.
John Prior: Sherri, thank you for comment and information. My favourite old tractors are the art deco styled Field Marshals 1945-57, single cylinder jobs that were started with smouldering saltpeter paper.

It may be near the end of its days John: love the cup over the exhaust - which suggests somebody is trying to keep its innards dry
John Prior: Thanks Chris, Yes - there was also a blue plastic tarpaulin that had blown off, this angle hid it.

John Prior: Thank you.
Its old but still looks intact and maybe drivable, lovely shotsmile
John Prior: Thank you.
Beautiful realization, balanced well, well with you.
Fabulous old tractor John. My dDd used to drive an earlier generation of one of these during WWII and then went with his brother to work for a company called Weatherheads in Royston, Herts.servicing and maintaining them.
John Prior: Thanks Brian, Royston hosts the nearby 'Cereals' event this week, so very much still an arable area.
When I was a kid I used to go the the Devon County show with a mate of mine whose Dad worked or a Tractor dealer. Loved climbing on the tractors and probably say these!

Nice picture
John Prior: Thanks Bill, I still enjoy seeing these at local steam fairs, which apart from traction engines have beautifully restored pre and post war farm machinery.
