London kids

Shot around Kings Cross in the sixties, although it looks older than that. The children wondering who the beatnik with the camera was approached me. Not something that would happen today and it's definately not now politically correct to take pictures of children without parental consent. Strange to think that they are in their fifties now. Pentax S1a SLR with 50mm lens on loan from art college and Kodak Tri-x film. Scanned with a Canon CanoScan FS4000US film scanner.

great shot! i love the scowling kid on the right, he provides a nice counter point to the cheery kids.
Yes you would probably be arrested now. Great picture,I love the child on the right with the quizzical expression.

My dad had a Pentax SV and when he died I inherited it and used it for many years. A beautifully made camera. Wish I still had it
John Prior: I used Pentax and Praktica at college, When I left college I worked my way through a Russian Zenit B not bad for around £16.00, a Praktica LTL and finally could afford a Pentax Spotmatic which I used for years and still have.

Such a pity isn't it that you couldn't go taking similar stuff in 2014 - sigh..

Reminds me very much of some stuff done by Bert Hardy. I'm extremely envious that you have got this image, John.
What a great image John, your note about modern times sums things up these days. I love the scruffy kid with his tongue out.
Nice portrait. I like the kid on the right.
Great image! Love that kid on the right!
Had to come back and give it a likey. Was so excited I forgot to yesterday.
Funny interactions happening here.
