He who pays the piper

A few shots from Charlecote Park. The Warwick area has some fine properties, this one next to the River Avon is a lovely example. Tradition says that William Shakespeare was once caught poaching on the Charlecote Estate. This tale may well be true, as the estate lies close to Shakespeare's family home at Stratford. The story goes that Shakespeare was forced to flee the area to avoid prosecution by Sir Thomas. The young playwright escaped to London, and the rest, as they say, is history. Shakespeare satirised Lucy by casting him as Justice Shallow in The Merry Wives of Windsor.

I like the stretched image John. That is a fine building yonder.
I know precisely where this is having been there twice in the last 3 years, a fine property to visit.
i like the colours here in this wonderful shot, John. amusing effect of the wide angle on the flower pot; looks like it might tip over on the piper any moment now grin
I love your perspective - with the piper nicely framed!
