The King Stone

Traditionally a monarch and his courtiers petrified by a witch, the Rollright Stones consist of three groups: the King's Men stone circle; the Whispering Knights burial chamber; and the single King Stone. They span nearly 2,000 years of Neolithic and Bronze Age development.

John Prior: All that time is but a brief moment in the scheme of things, but still unfathomable smile

This is really in tune with me today, John. Later, I am going to visit a little known "king-stone", an offlier like this one, of a stone circle in Wiltshire
John Prior: Sounds good to me smile
This certainly does need to be protected as it looks very fragile. Strange that I had never heard of this group.
John Prior: Not all that well known really, but managed by English Heritage and plenty online about them. Really need to be visited when it's quiet, in dramatic or interesting light at dawn or dusk, like most things really smile
