Ribblehead Viaduct

The Ribblehead Viaduct or Batty Moss Viaduct carries the Settle-Carlisle Railway across Batty Moss in the valley of the River Ribble at Ribblehead, in North Yorkshire. I was a bit annoyed to just miss a long freight train crossing it, the diesel locomotive was producing quite a lot of smoke in the clear sky.

This thing amazes me!!! I like the long shadows and your angle here!

Rarely do you see this place in such light John - what a structure!
Love the circles with crosses which look like huge screws. Can you imagine the screw driver?
I keep promising myself a walk around here,it's only an hour away, it seems strange to see it in sunlight, it always seems to be dark and gloomy.
John Prior: Sorry Frank, I took the sun back home with me smile
Wonderful construction as is the whole of the railway through there. I've been over this three times but never under or even near it otherwise.

I love the way the light slices through it John, you captured this at a good time.
It is a fantastic place. I waited in vain for a steam train to cross it!
Fantastic John... nice angle of shot!
