When the saints

The late Humphrey Lyttelton (far left) and jazz band members accompany John Mills, Labour, on a march through New Barnet, London, circa 1970. Shot on my Russian Zenit B, with 55mm f2 lens, a basic but well built SLR that cost under twenty pounds back then. Kodak Tri-x my favourite film.

Your Zenit probably weighed about 20 pounds also I might guess! smile
I like the photo - good photojournalism!
John Prior: Certainly solid, but not quite twenty pounds smile

I remember the fashion no sure I see a political march with instrument these days
John Prior: Maybe more a northern thing
They may have been crude cameras but the lens was actually quite good. Great picture John
John Prior: There were some quite good lenses with the M42 thread.

A great scene from history John, very enjoyable.
John Prior: Thanks Chad
I never had a Zenith, I had the next best thing, a Praktica!! I like this, it reminds me of when I saw Humph.at the Marquee jazz Club in Wardour Street sometime around that time.
John Prior: I had a Praktica LTL later also, until I could afford a Pentax Spotmatic, which I used for years until I got a Minolta 7000i, the first really successful autofocus camera. I still have the Pentax.

Those were the days
Before I read your caption I wonder how Harold Wilson had gotten in there. smile
My father has a camera from the same maker, John. Great shot here
I owned a Zenit E which was very solid but reliable. The good old days.
