Stunning shot John and even more dramatic in black & white. Its very rare that you can to see the inside of an engine. smile
All the immense power at you disposal. But perhaps this loco was not like the more beast-like powerful ones?

I wonder if drivers of the modern trains today would know where to start with this one smile
Even the oldest and most simple of engines has a set of controls that would take some learning to use properly.
This is a great series--I hope more follows...
What amazes me are the tiny front windows the engineer has to see the world.
