Such a clean and polished engine John. At first I thought those were bed sheets hung out to dry. I suppose they might be!
Beautiful train. Must have been an amazing sight during its day.
Didn't those really old engines have a lot of character, although the footplate facilities and cover for the crew was almost non-existent, it must have been awful at night or in bad weather.

I remember seeing this wonderful old engine, a gem from the London Brighton and South Coast Railway.
