A winter's tale

From last year. Great to be out and about this weekend also, I walked for miles, the snow is very invigourating. The only thing missing really was some decent light, so I concentrated on walking and left the camera in its bag. I've been freelance now for the last ten years, so while I'm pretty free most of the time and can work from home, there are periods of being busy.

This is superb John, it' rather like a huge snowflake!! Gorgeous shot.
John Prior: This years snow although fun, seems completely different from the previous two years.
Extraordinarily beautiful, John. I really love this one!
John Prior: Thanks a lot Elizabeth, glad of the all wheel drive and winter tyres, it helps one get around in conditions like thissmile
Gorgeous tree.
John Prior: Thanks a lot

Though from last year, John, I have a feeling you saw a lot of this on your walk this year! What a beautiful sight!
John Prior: This years snow has been very fine and powdery, tending to drift in the wind and not settle on the trees in quite the same way and it has stayed very grey light wise. That said I love to be out in the changed world it brings.

A wonderful image John. I was out yesterday with the NEX-7 determined to not go home until I had a couple of good shots in the bag, despite the overcast day
John Prior: It seemed to me that b&w was very appropriate for the rather bleak conditions.
It has been grey and dull here and the only pictures have been from a walk back from town on Friday when it was actually snowing.
John Prior: Yes same here, light powdery snow continuously for a couple of days, that seemed to maintain the same depth, except where it drifted in the wind.
A beautiful tree, highlighted by nature smile Lovely shot John!
John Prior: Thanks Martin, snow plus sunlight takes some beating.
Stunning,John!
John Prior: Thanks a lot Frank

This is so beautiful John. I too enjoyed the snow, shame about the clouds but this is the first year I've had a DSLR and snow to photograph so didn't want to miss anything. It's great walking in it though!
Simply Beautiful! I wish I was getting out but due to circumstances can not. Your photo is why! Snow is so beautiful in the right conditions. Ours has melted into ice everywhere but, at those right moments, like in this fine blue hour shot.....
I think the tree looks like a lovely giant crystal snowflake falling to the ground.
yeh! that's what I'm talking about! been waiting all season to take a pic like that!
