Trouble at Mill I

Sad to see so many of these fine buildings derelict, but they do make a good subject, near Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.

Very interesting subject for sure - especially with that tree growing out of the tower! smile
John Prior: Yes indeed, I find industrial buildings and their history fascinating.

Yikes - call the chimney sweep!

It would be a tragedy if these sorts of places were allowed to fall down: the whole area would lose part of its character
John Prior: Many have, this was used until quite recently as a factory outlet, on the other side a stone has 1991 on it where an addition was added or a restoration carried out.

That looks very quirky, Well spotted John. I hate to think what future damage those tree roots might do,.
John Prior: Another tree in tomorrows post, nature quickly reclaims.
The chimney tree certainly adds another dimension and makes you wonder how it got there!

Nature seems to be taking over
John Prior: Nature always wins in the end
The tree at the top of the tower makes this shot!
John Prior: Thanks Mary, I thought so also.
Great find John, the chimney tree is most unusual.
John Prior: The next post also has a tree growing out of the building, nature quickly reclaims it seems.
What a lovely old building! I was assuming this was water powered, but with that chimney I'm guessing steam powered?
John Prior: Both perhaps, steam at a later date perhaps.
Very nice shot. This mill has obviously seen better days.
John Prior: Thanks David, sad to see these buildings not put to good use.
