Greenwich film set

Some of Victor Hugo's 'Les Misérables' is being filmed at Greenwich university. A fantastic novel adapted and simplified for the long running musical. The original story has a wonderful description of the battle of Waterloo. Gavroche, a street urchin lives inside the hollow statue of the 'Elephant of the Bastille', a monument in Paris between 1813 and 1846. Sited where the 'Arc de Triomphe' now stands. The ladder behind the trunk gives an idea of scale.

I don't remember seeing this in stage show, a great find John.
John Prior: The stage version is much simplified Brian, the original novel has much more depth.

John Prior: It was a great find Jacquelyn
I can't abide the musical which I had the misfortune to sit through some years back. Impressive film set
John Prior: A great story though, the book is very long, I wonder how well it will be adapted to film, the BBC did a good radio play serial of it many years ago.
Great use of perspective and processing! A really strong image
John Prior: Thankyou, Finding this set by accident was a great opportunity.
Powerful stuff, John.
John Prior: This set was a great gift. Thanks Graeme.
