Frithsden Beeches

The largest and most impressive coppiced beech tree I've ever seen. On the Berkhamsted side of the Ashridge Business School, which is housed in the impressive Duke of Bridgewater's former residence. I was told about this wood while out one day on the Ashridge Estate. The whole estate, including this wood is managed by the National Trust. In this shot the tree is framed by its own branches.
