Alberobello street

Did not see that many old cars in italy like this Fiat 126. They must have gone to rust heaven, just like my Alfasud Ti and Alfetta GTV, both were great cars to drive.

Looks like a Greek town to me. smile
The car blends into the background perfectly!
John Prior: Yes it does have that feel and look, somehow older cars don't look so out of place.
I just love this place. I saw the inside of one of these homes on that show I mentioned before - it was really lovely. Did you get to stay in one?
John Prior: We did visit one, rather cramped if one is used to modern living. Thanks T.

It looks so...CLEAN. So pristine and Mediterranean. The car does seem to fit right in because it's white.
John Prior: Thanks Ginnie, being an older model helps also, modern things look a bit out of place.

I've got a modern Fiat 500: they are just WONDERFUL!

This place has real character John
John Prior: I remember seeing more 500's in Northern Italy in 2009 than in the South this year, I've also had a couple of Fiats in the past, had the wife's Uno for over ten years and it proved sound and reliable. The real problem with cars from the seventies, and not just Italian ones, was the poor quality steel that was used, the steel on the Alfasud separated into layers like paper mache when it rusted.
very narrow, my car will not fit in between those walls
John Prior: Thanks Chantal, at one of the hotels we stayed at, the proprietors son drove us into the local town, it felt like a scene from the 'Italian Job' never mind the narrow streetssmile

Nice. I like all the white broken up by the textured roofs and the sky.
John Prior: Thanks Otto.

the whiteness against the blue sky makes a great contrast here. once again, these places are fascinating.
John Prior: Thanks Sherri
No, not at all.
The old has is the main subject in the photo.
And it leads me eyes towards the end of Alberobello St.
Good technique!
I had a Fiat 128 years ago. Great fun to drive and more reliable than i expected!
John Prior: Thanks Bill, I remember wanting a 124 coupe smile
