The Alhambra at Granada

Part of the terrace gardens at the Alhambra. The Moorish gardens are delightful, plants, shade and the music of trickling water.

Very highly populated. I can't imagine that many people in such a small area. I like all the rooftops.
John Prior: Granada does not feel overcrowed, but lots of tourists around the Alhambra, I was lucky to get this quiet moment for a shot. Thanks Sherri.
I miss Granada!
I think the Alhambra is one of the most amazing Moorish buildings in Europe.
The ceilings in the main hall are terrific!
John Prior: Thanks LC, That whole region of Spain is great. But the clever craftsmanship of the Alhambra is certainly amazing.

This looks incredibly grand John: I'd love to go exploring here
John Prior: The Moors were fantastic craftsmen, and laboured for many years building and decorating the palace, I suppose the fact that when the Moors were driven out by the Catholics, they did not try to change the islamic decoration and scripts, speaks volumes about its artistic quality.

This is one place in Spain that I still need to visit John. I bet this was great.
John Prior: Thanks Chad, not to be missed smile
This architectural gem has it all: the place where is located the valley is superb. "The Court of the Lions" is a marvel. The architectural wealth of the place is huge. Great shot great shot. A greeting.
John Prior: Simply an amazing place, thanks Pedro smile
Lovely view of an interesting place. That arched walkway looks very interesting and makes me want to walk along it with my camera.

Only 3 hours drive away from us, and one of the places we said we would go.
But now my husband has a wheelchair and failing sight instead of a car. we have been advised that a visit to Granada would probably be a waste of time, its not very wheelchair friendly, too many hills, too many inaccessible places, and too many people.
John Prior: Thank you Sheila, I'm sorry to hear that.
You can literally see for miles, John. This is a stunning shot.
John Prior: Thanks Beverly, it is a stunning place.
Wonderful view John
John Prior: Thank you Janet, well worth a visit.
So much to see in this shot, its a fantastic view smile
