Bloody Tower

Tower of London installation, in collaboration with ceramic artist Paul Cummins and theatre stage designer Tom Piper, was unveiled on 5 August 2014, one hundred years since the first full day of Britain's involvement in the First World War. There will be 888,246 poppies installed, one for each British and Colonial fatality during the war.

does make a strong image, John.
Very powerful. And so ephemeral.

Truly impressive - awesome even, I've got to visit this myself..
What a moving sight, and to think that each small poppy represents a life lost, so long ago.

I'm not sure that the tower, with its violent bloody history, is the right venue for this superb memorial to fallen British soldiers etc. I would rather see this out on some flat land.

Also...imagine if we included all the other fallen from this conflict from other nations.
I heard about this installation but in a million years never thought I would get to see it. Very, very good and effective.
There seems to be a lot more poppies than when it was featured on T.V.earlier this month, indeed it looks quiet spectacular.
It really is quite something and I agree with Chad too
Perfect title to this photo...
Beautiful composition and punch of color.
A beautiful image Alan, of a very powerful statement. An amazing thing to see in person, I'd imagine.
